Elliott recorded 11 tackles in five games for Tennessee this season, according to the NFL's Tuesday transaction report. He joined the Titans during the offseason after previously playing for the Cleveland Browns and San Francisco 49ers.

The release ends that stint before Tennessee's home game against Cleveland on Sunday, October 25, at Nissan Stadium. The Titans did not announce a corresponding addition to the active defensive line in their Tuesday release.

Two other moves involved the practice squad. Tennessee signed defensive back Erick Hallett and waived linebacker Chase Wilson. Those transactions are separate from Elliott's release from the roster.
