The Titans activated cornerback Joshua Williams from injured reserve Saturday and waived defensive back Erick Hallett, the club announced. Williams is eligible for Sunday’s game at Indianapolis after spending the opening weeks on injured reserve with a pectoral injury.
Williams practiced the past two weeks after Tennessee opened his return window. The Titans also elevated defensive lineman Timmy Horne and safety Isaiah Oliver for Sunday. Williams spent his first four NFL seasons with Kansas City before joining Tennessee in March.
The move adds an available cornerback to the defense after Friday’s clearance of safety Amani Hooker from concussion protocol. It does not change the previously announced statuses of the Titans’ other injured players.
Earlier reporting
Amani Hooker has cleared concussion protocol and has no injury designation for Sunday's game at Indianapolis, ESPN's Turron Davenport reported Friday afternoon. The final clearance resolves the medical decision that remained open earlier in the day.
The Titans' updated Friday report lists Hooker as ready to play after he missed last week's game against Houston. Safety Kevin Winston Jr. remains out with a quadriceps injury, and Tony Adams is expected to fill Winston's spot.
Tyjae Spears returned to practice Friday but is questionable with a knee injury. Cornerback Joshua Williams is also questionable with a pectoral injury and still needs to be activated from injured reserve to play. Tennessee added defensive lineman Jordan Elliott to the report for personal reasons and ruled him out; Davenport reported he will not travel with the team.
Earlier reporting
Amani Hooker is expected to return against Indianapolis on Sunday, but the Titans safety still needed final clearance from an independent doctor Friday, coach Robert Saleh said.
Saleh said Hooker had nearly completed concussion protocol and was scheduled to see the doctor that day, according to the Titans' Friday report. Hooker missed last Sunday's game against Houston.
