Notre Dame lists nine players out for Michigan State

Brauntae Johnson and Jason Onye remain sidelined, while the Irish reported no new injury from the Rice game.

Notre Dame carried nine players on its out list when Michigan State week opened Monday. The September 14 report lists offensive linemen Matty Augustine, Charles Jagusah and Chris Terek; defensive backs Brauntae Johnson and Chaz Smith; defensive linemen Jason Onye, Christopher Burgess Jr. and Tiki Hola; and wide receiver Quincy Porter.

Johnson remains out with a left-foot injury and Onye with a left-ankle injury. Both were hurt during the September 6 win over Wisconsin and also missed the 52-0 victory over Rice. The current report says Notre Dame did not add an injury from the Rice game.

The depth chart reflects those absences. Onye and Johnson do not appear on the Week 3 two-deep, while Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa is back at middle linebacker after returning against Rice.

The September 14 availability report and depth chart are embedded below. These are the opening game-week designations; later updates may change who is available Saturday.
