The Diamondbacks scored five in the 10th and beat the Royals 5-4

Arizona and Kansas City were scoreless through nine at Kauffman Stadium. The Diamondbacks put up five in the 10th, then held on after Salvador Perez's three-run double.

The Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Kansas City Royals 5-4 in 10 innings on Monday afternoon, September 7, 2026, at Kauffman Stadium.

Neither team scored through nine. In the top of the 10th, Arizona scored five: Corbin Carroll on a Lars Nootbaar sacrifice fly, Ildemaro Vargas and Ryan Waldschmidt on Geraldo Perdomo's single (with a right-field error), Ketel Marte on Gabriel Moreno's single, and Moreno's runner advancing as Nolan Arenado singled.

Kansas City answered with four in the bottom of the 10th. Carter Jensen doubled home a run, then Salvador Perez doubled home Kyle Isbel, Jensen, and Bobby Witt Jr. Arizona still led 5-4 when it ended.

Justin Martinez got the win. Craig Kimbrel took the loss. Dennis Santana recorded the save. Attendance was 18,912.
