The Atlanta Braves beat the Philadelphia Phillies 5-2 on Friday night, September 4, 2026, at Citizens Bank Park in the opener of their four-game series.

Mauricio Dubón went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in the eighth that made it 5-2. Ronald Acuña Jr. finished 3-for-5 with a double and an RBI single. Chris Sale threw six innings for the win (6.0 IP, 2 ER, 7 K), and Raisel Iglesias closed the ninth for his 30th save. Cristopher Sánchez took the loss after six innings.

Atlanta scored three in the second and two more in the eighth. Philadelphia got a second-inning RBI double and a solo homer from Alec Bohm but could not catch up. Final: Braves 5, Phillies 2 (attendance 41,883).

After the game Atlanta sat at 84-57 and Philadelphia at 79-62.
