The afternoon injury report supplies a concrete step beyond that earlier plan: the players participated. It supplies no Sunday game designation or promise about their workload against Tennessee. Ryans had explained that the team would assess their response through the week before deciding on game availability.
For Dell, that distinction matters to owners carrying him while he recovers. A practice window lets the club evaluate a return before activation. Limited participation gives Houston another observation; it does not establish that he has joined the active game roster, how many snaps he can handle or where he fits in the receiving rotation.
Independent reporting by Josh Buckhalter for Heavy also documented the Texans’ announcement and a practice video posted by Houston radio reporter Adam Wexler. Wexler identified Dell near the end of that clip. The video supports the return-to-practice development, while the team’s injury report establishes the participation category.
There are separate decisions for Smith and McDonald. Their limited practices should not be treated as evidence that all three will return together. Ryans framed availability around each player’s response to the work, which leaves room for different activation dates.
Houston’s report also listed Nico Collins as limited for a rest designation. That entry has a different stated reason from Dell’s knee injury and should be read separately. Neither entry identifies a new target distribution.
The next useful evidence is the rest of the practice week, an activation transaction and the final game-status information. RSO owners can track those changes while keeping any projected receiving role provisional. Wednesday advanced Dell’s recovery process; Houston still has the roster and playing-time decisions ahead.
