Corey Seager underwent surgery Tuesday to remove a bone spur from his right elbow, the Rangers announced Friday, bringing a clearer answer to one of their offseason health questions.
Texas said its shortstop is expected to recover fully in time to begin his normal offseason work. The club also announced that catcher Danny Jansen had a procedure Wednesday to remove a bone growth from his right hand.
Josh Jung will not need surgery for the right-hand fracture he suffered when a pitch hit him on September 25. Together, the updates resolve several possibilities the Rangers had discussed after their season ended.
MLB.com beat writer Kennedi Landry supplied the procedure dates in her Friday update: October 6 for Seager and October 7 for Jansen.
