Pureplay pairs a spin demo with adjustable light, clouds and fog

Two developer videos preview shot behavior and course conditions; the platform remains in development.

Pureplay’s latest developer video puts ball behavior alongside the platform’s earlier demonstration of adjustable course conditions. The October 2 ball-physics clip is presented as a progression from a drive into wedge shots, while the September 26 conditions video focuses on time of day, clouds and fog.

Together, the two previews describe how the simulator aims to handle both the shot and the setting around it. Pureplay’s current website still advertises a fall 2026 launch and a waitlist, with the product in active development.

From a drive to shorter shots

The developer describes the ball-physics demo as starting with a 145 mph drive, then moving through pitching-wedge, pitch and lob shots at different spin rates. Its stated focus is how the ball reacts after landing as spin increases.

That gives the preview a specific short-game question: how will a simulator represent the difference between a shot that checks and one that continues to roll? Pureplay presents the clip as a demonstration of its own system. The available description does not provide a comparison against measured outdoor shots.

Change the setting

The conditions clip addresses a different part of the round. Pureplay says users can set the time of day, adjust cloud cover and add fog, changing light, shadows and the feel of the course.

The weather preview does not specify a numerical ball-flight effect for those settings.

What the platform currently promises

Pureplay’s FAQ describes a yearly subscription for one PC, covering its course library, practice tools, tournaments, multiplayer and leagues. It says the exact price will appear at checkout. The current platform is Windows-only, with Mac support described as a possible later project.

The official site lists nine supported integrations and marks Rapsodo as in progress. Its launch timing and feature descriptions remain preliminary. These two developer previews offer a focused look at the work: a wider range of shots for the physics demo and more control over the conditions in which a simulated round takes place.
