Christian Gonzalez and the New England Patriots agreed to a four-year, $135 million extension that makes him the highest-paid cornerback in NFL history, sources told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler late Monday (story 49865736).

The package includes $102 million guaranteed, topping the mark set by Seattle's Devon Witherspoon ($132 million over four years).
