Update: October 20
DeMarvion Overshown expects to return Monday night at Philadelphia, The Athletic’s Jon Machota reported Tuesday. The Cowboys linebacker has missed five games since injuring his hamstring in Week 1. Dallas’s Tuesday injury roundup also describes him as nearing a return.
Overshown told Machota he had taken his rehabilitation seriously and had been trying to return since the week after his injury. That expectation is an encouraging change from Saturday’s decision to rule him out of the Green Bay game; it is not a final game designation for Monday.
Cornerback Cobie Durant is also trending toward a possible return after missing four games with a hamstring injury, according to the club. Dallas could use the reinforcements after linebacker Dee Winters suffered an Achilles strain against Green Bay. The Cowboys enter the Philadelphia game at 2-4.

DeMarvion Overshown will not play Sunday night at Green Bay. The Cowboys ruled the linebacker out Saturday and said he would not travel with the team because of his hamstring injury, according to the club’s October 17 update.
The decision closes the question left open by Friday’s questionable designation. Cornerback Cobie Durant had already been ruled out, while Joey Porter Jr. remained questionable on the final report. Dallas also announced defensive-back elevations for Derion Kendrick and Juanyeh Thomas.

DeMarvion Overshown is officially questionable for Sunday night's game at Green Bay. The NFL's Friday injury report lists the linebacker with a hamstring injury, while cornerback Cobie Durant is out with a hamstring injury.
Brian Schottenheimer said earlier Friday that both players were long shots to play, ESPN's Todd Archer reported. The final designations settle Durant's availability and leave Overshown's undecided.
Cornerback Joey Porter Jr. is also questionable after limited participation Friday, Archer reported in his afternoon update. Dallas also listed defensive tackle LT Overton and cornerback Ameer Speed as questionable, and ruled tackle Drew Shelton out.

DeMarvion Overshown remains a long shot to play Thursday against Tampa Bay, Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer said Tuesday. The linebacker was again listed as a non-participant with a hamstring injury, and Dallas reported no changes in its players' participation levels from Monday's walkthrough to Tuesday's light practice.
Tyler Smith remained limited as he works toward a potential season debut. Dallas opened the All-Pro guard's 21-day practice window Monday following the thumb injury that required surgery before the regular season. His return to practice gives the Cowboys an opportunity to evaluate him on a short week, but Tuesday's report did not establish that he will play.
Tampa Bay’s official Tuesday report listed Josiah Trotter as a full participant. An earlier version of this article used the Cowboys’ matchup report, which listed him as a non-participant.
