Mike Schmitz says the Mavericks upgraded size, length, and skill

Mike Schmitz took over as Mavericks GM on May 8 after a 26-56 season. He said Dallas has gotten bigger, longer, more athletic, and more skilled, with more space for the primary creators.

Dallas has 16 players on standard contracts and a 15-man regular-season limit, so a cut or trade is still due before tip. Naji Marshall signed a three-year, $52.2 million extension through 2029-30. The opener is Oct. 21 at Houston at 7:30 p.m. CT.
