The Wolverines started Tommy Carr over Bryce Underwood, a week after Carr came off the bench in a win over Penn State. Carr was sacked on the drive that reached the 1, and the series ended with a missed 32-yard field goal, according to the Associated Press. In the last minute of regulation Michigan reached the 3, Carr took his fourth sack, and Trey Butkowski kicked a 26-yarder as time ran out just to get to overtime. Butkowski finished 2 for 4.

Indiana's offense wasn't much better. Josh Hoover went 8 of 18 for 81 yards with an interception, and Curt Cignetti said Hoover isn't completely healthy. But on the first play of overtime Hoover hit Brock Schott for 21 yards, and he ran it in from the 4 soon after.

Michigan then drove to the Indiana 13 needing a touchdown. Carr's last throw hit the ground in front of Salesi Moa just outside the end zone.

Michigan ran 42 times for 57 yards. Jordan Marshall had 26 on 12 carries and Savion Hiter 15 on 10. Carr threw for 167 yards on 20-of-32 passing, lost a fumble on a first-quarter pitch and threw an interception in the second half. The defense held Indiana to 212 yards, and Chris Bracy made 13 tackles. The AP's takeaway on Michigan was blunt: with Carr or Underwood at quarterback, the offense is struggling on the ground and through the air.

Michigan is 4-3 and 1-3 in the Big Ten, and Indiana won at Michigan Stadium for the first time since 1967. The Hoosiers are 7-1.

Michigan plays at Rutgers next Saturday. Indiana hosts Minnesota.
