What Kisner said
Kisner said he had a two-year contract with Jupiter Links. "Rob, Tiger's guy," texted him last week to explain the team's decisions, which players were moving and "that Tiger wanted to play a full schedule," he said, according to the episode transcript. He said the two sides had talked about it at the end of last season.
Kisner said the move was "totally fine with me." He said he only played twice in TGL's second season and doubted fans wanted "a part-time podcast or part-time broadcaster" in the lineup when they could have Mitchell. He said he expects to stay involved with Jupiter, has a shoot there next week and thinks he might hold some equity in the team. Skipping TGL also means he won't be flying back and forth to Palm Beach every Monday in January and February, he said.
Kisner was replaced by Woods for the final night of the 2026 SoFi Cup Finals in March, when Los Angeles beat Jupiter Links for the title.
The new Jupiter roster
TGL moves to five-player teams for its third season, which begins December 27. Jupiter's roster is Woods, Max Homa, Tom Kim, Keith Mitchell and Akshay Bhatia, Sportsnet reported when the full rosters came out on October 20. Sportsnet noted that Kisner and Adam Scott do not appear on any roster.
Woods had back surgery in October 2025 and sat out TGL's 2026 regular season before playing in the finals.
What to watch
TGL's season opens December 27 at SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Jupiter's schedule will show how often Woods is penciled in. Kisner's full comments are on Fore Play episode 908.
