Jaden Greathouse and Cam Williams talk receiver idols, Lambeau and borrowed golf clubs

The Irish receivers’ conversation moves from Texas football and injury recovery to their less-polished golf games.

Jaden Greathouse has a dependable golf club. It belongs to Cam Williams. In Notre Dame’s September 10 sit-down, Greathouse picks his teammate’s seven-iron as his go-to and admits he still borrows a putter.

The two Irish receivers have plenty to discuss before the golf stories. Williams asks how playing high-school football in Texas prepared Greathouse for college. Greathouse points to the level of competition, the offseason work and the experience of playing state championship games at the Cowboys’ stadium. He also discusses staying involved with his teammates while dealing with a hamstring injury the previous season.

Williams explains that Mike Evans and Marvin Jones were receivers he liked watching as he developed his own downfield game. Both players recall the atmosphere at Lambeau Field after Notre Dame’s Wisconsin trip; neither managed to join the postgame Lambeau Leap.

By the end, the conversation has moved to backyard chipping practice, sharing clubs and an errant shot through a garage window. The full interview below has the appeal of teammates talking to each other: football details, a little teasing and a glimpse of what they do when practice is over.
