Minnesota's defense did most of the work again. Linebacker Blake Cashman finished with 12 tackles, two sacks, four passes defensed and three quarterback hits, and the Vikings sacked Jones four times for 44 yards. Jones completed 13 of 22 passes for 108 yards with the interception, and the Colts finished with 64 net passing yards.
The Colts led for most of the afternoon. Jonathan Taylor ran 38 yards for a touchdown on the opening drive, and Indianapolis carried a 10-6 lead into the fourth quarter after Spencer Shrader's 43-yard field goal at the end of the first half. Taylor finished with 95 yards on 18 carries.
The turn came on a Colts decision. Facing fourth-and-2, coach Shane Steichen sent Shrader out for a 56-yard try, and he missed it. Kyler Murray then ran 35 yards to set up his own 5-yard touchdown pass to T.J. Hockenson, which put Minnesota ahead 13-10 with 14:36 left. Shrader, who leads the NFL with 70 points, missed two field goals in the second half, and his streak of 22 straight makes ended on a wide-left miss with former Colts cornerback Isaiah Rodgers pressuring off the edge, according to the Associated Press.
