Golf Simulator Videos takes PurePlay’s closed beta through a full first look

A new 47-minute walkthrough examines course play, drops, bunker shots and range dispersion while the simulator platform remains in closed beta.

Golf Simulator Videos has published a 47-minute first look at PurePlay, moving beyond the developer's short previews into course play, drop options, bunker shots and a practice-range dispersion display.

The October 5 video starts with a qualification that matters: the software is in a closed beta with a small group of testers. The presenter describes an early interface and settings that still need polishing. PurePlay's public website continues to advertise a fall 2026 launch and a waitlist.

The course portion begins with a Silvertip flyover at 11:14, followed by custom data tiles and play. Later chapters turn to green-contour and elevation options, drops at 29:43, bunker shots at 38:52 and the practice range at 43:43. Those are useful places to start for golfers who care about playing a round and practicing specific shots.

During the short-game portion, the presenter hits higher-spin approaches and discusses their reaction on a downhill green set to normal firmness. He describes the result as realistic, while noting the slope and settings. That is a creator's assessment of the beta demonstration. The video supplies no controlled comparison with outdoor shots that would establish accuracy across different conditions.

The range section shows a dispersion area developing as more shots are hit. The presenter also explains that a shot can be deleted from the group. When using that kind of display to judge consistency, which shots remain in the sample matters.

PurePlay says its planned platform combines practice, course play and competition, with proprietary physics and Unreal Engine graphics. Its current website distinguishes licensed official launch-monitor integrations from community connectors created by third parties. An owner should check that distinction for their own monitor before treating the preview as a reason to switch software.

The website's advertised course count and weekly additions are launch plans, with a footer warning that features and timelines can change. This first look establishes what one tester could demonstrate in the beta. It gives prospective users a longer view of the workflow while the general release is still pending.

The Perfect Lie's earlier developer-demo report covers the separate physics and course-conditions previews.

October 8 beta update

2nd Flight Golf has now added another view of the closed beta. In an October 8 video, creator Jacob demonstrates downloading courses through the launcher, practice options and a short course-play session at Bent Tree. The interface includes a putting heat map and grid, while his demonstration shows tee height changing with the selected club. These are observations from his own setup, rather than a compatibility guarantee for every launch monitor.

Jacob says his touchscreen controls are not working in this session and that he needs to check whether the problem is specific to his setup. He also comments on ball spin and surface interaction while playing. As with the original Golf Simulator Videos walkthrough, those impressions do not establish a controlled measure of the simulation's accuracy.

The second demonstration is useful because it shows another tester working through menus, practice and course play before public release. It does not change the distinction between a closed-beta preview and a finished product available to every golfer.
