What is confirmed
All three were listed as non-participants on Thursday's official report, which Philadelphia Inquirer beat writer Jeff McLane posted from the team. ESPN's Tim McManus also noted that none of the three were spotted during the open portion of practice. Running back Saquon Barkley (hamstring) returned and was limited.
Smith, Wicks and Goedert are the Eagles' top three pass catchers by receiving yards this season, according to the Inquirer. Goedert missed Weeks 3 and 4 with a knee injury, and the team has not said whether this is the same problem.
What is still unclear
Philadelphia hosts Dallas on Monday Night Football, so Thursday was only the first of several practices before the game. The report came with no timeline for any of the three, and no one has been ruled out.
Smith has dealt with a hamstring issue for most of this month. He missed practice time in Weeks 5 and 6 and sat out the Week 5 game in London. Wicks also had a hamstring problem earlier in October, so the ankle is a new listing for him.
Why it matters for RSO owners
The Eagles are already starting Tanner McKee at quarterback with Jalen Hurts out for the season. Losing two or three of his main targets would leave a thin passing game with few reliable options and would cut into the floor for whoever does play.
If Smith or Goedert sits, the targets have to go somewhere. Depth receivers and the backup tight end would pick up more snaps.
What to do now
Hold all three. A Thursday DNP before a Monday game is an early warning, and it does not settle anything for Week 7. If you start Smith or Goedert, line up a backup who plays Sunday afternoon or Monday so you have a pivot.
What to watch next
Watch Friday's and Saturday's practice reports. A full or limited session for Smith by Saturday points toward him playing Monday. Final game designations are due Saturday, two days before kickoff.
