Doak went dark, then SMU beat FSU 27-24 under limited power

A nearly two-hour power outage delayed the Labor Day ACC opener. Miami piled on. Nick Reed's late field goal finished the night.

Florida State's Labor Day night against No. 19 SMU turned into appointment TV for the wrong reasons.

A lengthy power outage at Doak Campbell Stadium delayed kickoff nearly two hours. The sides then finished with limited power still in the building (ESPN).

Miami did not waste the moment. The Hurricanes posted a troll jab at the Seminoles' stadium blackout while the delay dragged (ESPN).

When the lights were back enough to finish, SMU walked out with a 27-24 road win. Nick Reed's 20-yard field goal with 21 seconds left closed it after Kevin Jennings shook off interceptions on the winning drive and SMU survived four turnovers (ESPN gameId 401858212).
