Charley Hull’s first requirement for trusting an indoor golf shot is the surface beneath the ball. Asked about adapting to SoFi Center, she told Athlon Sports she wanted “a good mat.”
The comment comes from written answers supplied to Brendon Elliott through event media representatives on October 16 and published this week. Hull also identified the enormous screen as an adjustment and said she wanted to learn how the greens react and how the arena looks from her position over the ball.
Elliott’s interview also asked about preparing amid noise and distractions. Hull said she keeps her pre-shot routine consistent. For simulator golfers, her answers offer a useful distinction between learning the room and changing the steps before a shot. The mat, target picture and green response each give her something concrete to assess.
Atlanta’s WTGL season is approaching
Atlanta Drive GC’s official roster announcement places Hull alongside Minjee Lee, Andrea Lee, Yuka Saso and Nataliya Guseva. Each WTGL team carries five players, with three competing in a match.
The league’s official roster-reveal show, published August 31, introduces those teams. It supplies background on the competition below; it is separate from Elliott’s written interview.
