Golden State led 106-94 after De'Anthony Melton's 3-pointer with 3:47 to play. The Warriors missed their last nine shots and did not make another field goal. Ty Jerome's 3-pointer with 1:24 left cut it to 106-105. Zach Edey blocked a Stephen Curry 3, and Jaylen Wells tied the game at 106 with a free throw. Curry and Brandin Podziemski each missed from deep before Boozer put Memphis ahead.

Boozer, the third pick in the draft, finished with 25 points, 13 rebounds, six assists and two steals, and he made 4 of 7 3-pointers. The NBA said he is the third-youngest player in league history to post 25 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in a game, behind Cooper Flagg and LeBron James.

Jerome followed his career-high 45-point opener against Utah with 28 points on 11-of-22 shooting, and the league said 20 of them came after halftime. Wells scored 17 on four 3-pointers, and Edey had eight points, 10 rebounds and two blocks. Memphis overcame 25 turnovers.

Curry led the Warriors with 24 points but shot 5 for 15. Rookie Yaxel Lendeborg, the 11th pick, had 18 points, 13 rebounds and six assists in his home debut. Podziemski scored 18 and hit a go-ahead 3 late in the third quarter as Golden State took a 90-84 lead into the fourth. Graham Ike, a two-way center, started and scored 10. The AP said it was the first time the Warriors had two rookie starters in a home opener since the NBA began tracking starters in 1970-71.

It was a chippy night. Isaiah Stewart and Draymond Green drew double technicals before halftime, and Lendeborg and Jerome got double technicals early in the third quarter. That was Lendeborg's second technical in two career games. Podziemski briefly went to the locker room in the first quarter after taking a hit to the head from Edey.

Memphis is 2-0 and plays at Sacramento on Sunday. Golden State is 0-2 and visits Phoenix on Saturday.
