The Broncos ruled Talanoa Hufanga and Pat Surtain II out of Thursday night’s game against Seattle with ankle injuries. Riley Moss is questionable with injured ribs after being limited on all three of Denver’s reports.
Denver’s final Wednesday report gives the secondary a firmer game-availability picture after the earlier recovery estimates. Brandon Jones, Sai’vion Jones and Ben Powers practiced fully Wednesday and received no game designations. Hufanga’s reported multiweek recovery estimate remains separate from the confirmed absence against Seattle.
Earlier reporting: October 12–14, before final game designations
Broncos safety Talanoa Hufanga is expected to miss multiple weeks with the ankle injury he suffered against the Chargers, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported Wednesday. One source estimated roughly two to three weeks, depending on how Hufanga recovers.
The report extends the injury outlook beyond the short-week practice absences. The two-to-three-week timeline is a recovery estimate that depends on Hufanga’s progress.
Earlier in the week
On Monday, Riley Moss was estimated as a limited participant on Denver’s first injury report for Thursday’s game against Seattle. Pat Surtain II and Talanoa Hufanga were estimated as nonparticipants, leaving three members of the Broncos’ secondary on the report before the short week’s practices began.
Denver did not practice Monday. The designations described what the team estimated each player could have done if it had held a session; they did not mean Moss took part in an actual practice or that either nonparticipant had been ruled out of the Seahawks game.
Moss is dealing with a rib injury suffered against San Francisco in Week 4. He missed Sunday’s win over the Chargers. Surtain also missed that game after hurting his ankle in Week 4, while Hufanga left the Chargers game with an ankle injury.
