Boone will return as Yankees manager in 2027, Caldera and Curry report

New York keeps Boone for a tenth season, with one guaranteed year remaining on his contract.

Aaron Boone will return as Yankees manager in 2027, according to reports Monday from Pete Caldera and YES Network's Jack Curry. The decision keeps Boone in charge for a tenth season after New York's second consecutive exit in the American League Division Series.

Caldera reported the decision at 5:25 p.m. Eastern, citing a Major League Baseball executive. He said 2027 is the final guaranteed season of Boone's current contract.

Boone has managed the Yankees since 2018. He took them to the 2024 World Series, which they lost to the Dodgers, before consecutive division-round eliminations in 2025 and 2026.

New York signed Boone to a two-year extension in February 2025. Monday's reports concern his return under that agreement, which runs through 2027; neither report announced an additional contract.
