What is confirmed
Palmer will not play in Week 5. Brady said he got "twisted up" in Friday's practice, and he is listed with a shoulder injury. Defensive tackle Ed Oliver is also out for Monday.
Palmer is still going through imaging and testing. Brady did not have an answer on whether the injury could keep him out longer than one game, according to Bills reporter Joe Buscaglia.
Who plays instead
Brady confirmed that rookie Skyler Bell, a fourth-round pick, will be active and make his NFL debut. NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe said Bell is expected to take many of Palmer's reps, and possibly more if DJ Moore cannot play.
Moore is questionable with his shoulder injury. He missed practice earlier in the week, so Buffalo's receiver group is thin heading into a prime-time game. Khalil Shakir and Keon Coleman are the other receivers RSO owners will be weighing.
What RSO owners should do
If Palmer is in your Week 5 lineup, move him out now. Since this is a Monday game, you have time, but there is no reason to wait for news that will not change his status.
Do not cut him over one missed game while the imaging results are still pending. His contract value in RSO leagues depends on whether this turns into a multi-week absence, and that answer should come early next week.
Bell is worth a look in deeper leagues with open roster spots, especially if Moore is ruled out by Monday. In shallow leagues he is a watch-list name for now.
Watch two things. First, Moore's final status before kickoff on Monday, since that decides how much work falls to Bell. Second, any update on Palmer's imaging, which will tell owners whether to plan around him for Week 6.
