Auburn stuns No. 1 Georgia as Tennessee shuts down Alabama

McPherson's last-second kick and the Vols' second-half shutout lead the October 17 afternoon results, with reports from all 13 games.

Alex McPherson's last-second field goal gave Auburn a 27-24 win at No. 1 Georgia, while Tennessee shut out Alabama after halftime in a 26-10 victory.

Georgia had erased a 10-point second-half deficit and tied Auburn with 2:58 remaining. A late fumble gave the Tigers another possession, and a roughing-the-passer penalty helped them reach field-goal range. McPherson made the 34-yard attempt as time expired to end the Bulldogs' unbeaten start.
