Ohio State hosts Maryland at Ohio Stadium on Saturday, October 10, with kickoff scheduled for 4:15 p.m. ET on Big Ten Network. Maryland's kickoff announcement and Ohio State's schedule agree on the date and time. The Buckeyes return home after their 31-14 win at Iowa, with the team card and player-performance card asking different questions about the same game.
Start with the team result. Ohio State's record entering the week is 4-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play. Its three home results on the official schedule are wins over Ball State, Kent State and Illinois. That establishes the recent home context, without supplying a betting line or guaranteeing another margin. A scoring threshold, a halftime lead and the final winning margin are separate outcomes; none follows automatically from a prediction that Ohio State will win.
The player card turns attention to Julian Sayin and Jeremiah Smith. At Iowa, Sayin threw for 324 yards and three touchdowns, while Smith caught 11 passes for 206 yards and two scores. Those are completed-game numbers from Ohio State's recap. They are useful context for the passing and receiving calls, but repeating that large a box score is a different proposition from clearing a smaller published threshold.
Running-back usage deserves the same care. Ohio State's report says Ja'Kobi Jackson and Bo Jackson combined for 142 rushing yards at Iowa. A combined backfield total is not Bo Jackson's individual rushing total. If a question names one runner, that player's line decides it. The same rule applies to receptions and receiving yards: a strong team passing day can be distributed across several receivers.
Before submitting Saturday's picks, check each question's exact wording and the card's lock time. “At least” includes the stated number; a larger-than threshold requires more. Receiving yards, receptions and touchdown catches also measure different parts of a receiver's afternoon. This is where a fan's view of the game becomes a set of specific calls. The Homecoming setting supplies the occasion; the final team and individual statistics will supply the answers.
