Trevor Goosby was selected as the Outland Trophy’s National Player of the Week on September 15, his first weekly honor from the award. Texas’ announcement credited him with allowing no sacks and one pressure across 46 pass-blocking snaps against Ohio State.

The closing possessions explain why the line mattered. Each of Texas’ final three touchdown drives covered at least 72 yards and lasted at least 12 plays. The first two included fourth-down conversions in Texas territory. Sustaining those possessions gave the offense enough time and opportunities to erase its deficit.

Texas Athletics reported that the Longhorns gained 150 yards in the fourth quarter, with 83 through the air and 67 on the ground. Goosby joins a program with five previous Outland Trophy winners, including T’Vondre Sweat in 2023 and Kelvin Banks Jr. in 2024. The weekly selection is separate from the season’s final award.
