Chicago's choice of Bryson Graham put a personnel evaluator in charge of its next roster cycle. The Bulls hired him to lead basketball operations in May, giving the franchise a new decision-maker before the draft and free agency.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution's reporting traces the experience behind that appointment. Graham joined Atlanta in June 2025 after 15 years with New Orleans, where he began as a front-office intern and moved through player development, video, scouting and assistant general manager roles.
That is relevant experience for a rebuilding team because draft evaluation and development cannot be separate exercises. A promising player needs a credible route to useful minutes, and the staff needs to know which skills it is being asked to develop.
Graham's background does not tell us which decisions will work. It gives a clearer way to assess them: whether the players Chicago acquires fit together, whether their roles support their progress and whether the organization changes course when evidence calls for it.
The coming season will provide that evidence. For the front office, the task is to turn individual evaluations into a coherent roster rather than collecting young players whose opportunities compete with one another.
